159 Tittesworth Reservoir

Tittesworth Reservoir can appear to the passing traveller as just a place to go birdwatching or somewhere for a picnic with a nice view. But there has always been a bit more with paths leading off mysteriously into the trees then, in 2006 they opened a new path on the western side, so you can walk all the way round the lake which has been grandly renamed Tittesworth Water. There are easy, surfaced footpaths, while in the woods there are chiffchaffs, blackcaps, whitethroats and sedge warblers as well as three different kinds of woodpecker. With two hides giving uninterrupted lakeside views, and numerous seats and picnic tables in hidden corners, this is the place to birdwatch in comfort.
