249 Fairy Glen

You don't have to believe in fairies to enjoy the hidden clough of Fairy Glen, but the bluebells in these wooded depths would delight even Shakespeare's Oberon and Titania. Sprodley Brook tumbles over a fine waterfall into a deep ravine beneath sheer rocky walls and then the Leeds and Liverpool Canal makes for easy walking. The only effort is the return over High Moor, but as well as extensive views there are lots more bluebells.
