"Ducks playing in river, slow please" warns the notice at Butterton's little ford. But hurrying is not something you'd want to do through this picturesque village and its neighbour Warslow, both settlements for many centuries. The Black Lion and The Greyhound (which welcome walkers) are pretty ancient too - there's certainly no need to hurry here!
