542 Hatch Mere and Blakemere

The French had quite a hand in Delamere for the Normans christened it - meaning "Of the Mere" - then Napoleonic prisoners planted the trees. So what can we say for the creation of Cheshire's lovely area of woods and lakes - just "Merci beaucoup!"
