Today's objective is the top. Not just an ascent of Holcombe Moor, but the very top of the Peel Tower. From its castellated crest there's a splendid view across the Irwell Valley and, of course, the approach from Ramsbottom had to be through Nuttall Park. But first of all you have to get there and what more appropriate place to start than Nuttall Park, once the stately home of the De Notough family.
