Tiny crystals sparkled in the gritstone as we climbed the rocky slopes of Clougha past Ice Age ravines that give the hill its name. Then reaching the Pike our reward was lunch in the heather overlooking the best view in Bowland, before a shooting track turned the descent into an easy stroll.
