885 Crich Stand

Be prepared for the unexpected as you climb from the Cromford Canal to Crich Stand for suddenly a vintage tram may appear out of the trees. You get a splendid view, a cheery wave from the conductor, and it's a good excuse for a rest. Then, after climbing to the top of Crich Stand war memorial, you walk through the attractive village of Crich, followed by a delightful descent through Crich where, in spring, the wood is full of bluebells. Finally an easy stroll along the Cromford Canal completes the day.
