898 Ashford in the Water and Bakewell

No-one needs an excuse for visiting Ashford in the Water for it is one of the Peak District's prettiest villages, while Bakewell with its fine church and ancient bridge is the most attractive town. After an initial steepish climb the rest of the walk is easy with great aerial views over Ashford. Then it's down into Bakewell for a little retail therapy before a stroll through pastures beside the River Wye brings you back to Ashford and the difficult decision is it to be cafe or pub.
